Prypjat (50,000 inhabitants) ex pearl technological and social Soviet Union, for over two decades is immense reduced to ghost town, in the background the plant that caused the disaster.

Some German artists with the help of a guide have designed these "shadows" in the abandoned homes, most of the dead were children, now playing in the city were only shadows.

The evacuation took place very late (well one day and a half later), when the sirens started to ring people have left the city immediately, for many it was already too late.

These kittens were born within a 30Km more contamination, are almost all blind and destined to death.

Some people do not have another place to go have never abandoned their land, ignoring the provisions have continued to cultivate vegetables and fish in the river, most of them died during the first five years. This lady has lost her husband and remained alone in the company of his cats, the only assistance that the state provides to these people is the periodic survey of the level of radioactivity. Within a radius of 60Km do not live more than forty people, most are elderly.

Even today there are many cases of people who suddenly fall ill because of radiation, this little girl is called Victoria and went into hospital for a wound to the leg that is not healed. After several days of hospitalization the immune system has finally ceased to function, the appetite has disappeared and the body began to fill the spots. The hospital in Kiev is not a center of excellence for these cases, the family of Victoria to economic problems has not had a chance to take it abroad.

The nuclear contamination is an invisible killer that leaves no escape, the levels of radioactivity in the area make their lives impossible. The four reactor was shut down in a sarcophagus of concrete and steel, Geiger counters, however, continue to talk about death. Here radiation is seventy times higher than the acceptable threshold, you can not stay in for more than a few minutes.
Blog is also a video that helps to have a more clear idea of the situation, some few years courageous even give you guided tours.
