The video has Emilio Fede unpacking the karma of the blog, then let the extreme ignorance of a man with little genius of a man become immortal through his mind.
Leonardo DaVinci is unanimously considered the genius par excellence, we are used to associate its name to extraordinary inventions, machines and ideas that have forever changed history. Leonardo's life was not easy, being illegitimate child's father decided to introduce very young to work in a shop (a pupil of Verrocchio). At that time workers in the shop not enjoyed great social prestige, the "caste" better educated for the period was divided between literary and mathematical theory. Leonardo did not know Latin (which is serious enough for the time) and made frequent mistakes in calculations rather simple. Compensated with plenty of painting, a skill in which manage to earn bread for his own life. Arrivato adolescents our genius already enjoyed an excellent reputation but it was not yet "testone" that we used to know. Something took probably during the first meetings with those who at the time were called "scientists." These individuals classified our toscanaccio even as an ignorant, a man of little culture. Driven by an immense pride and boundless hunger for truth Leonardo began to take its famous notes that accompanied all his life and began to study on the few books I could find. Twenty years he prepared for mathematics was virtually complete, the Latin she learned only later when he was already self-thirties. The numbers immediately attracted all the attention, even delayed the delivery of important paintings to continue to practice. He lived for sixty-seven years designing, creating, writing and traveling all the time, in the last years of life was indeed suffering from a stroke that paralyzed his right hand with his left hand he wrote on his paper "I will continue." Of all his writings more than 60% have been lost over the centuries. The work that has come to today is huge in any case, here are some of my favorite phrases:
"Anyone who blames the amount of mathematical certainty is feeds on confusion, and never put to silence the contradictions Sophistical science, with which one learns gridore eternal."
He understood very quickly what distinguished mathematics from other disciplines, the proof. Mathematical truths are not the only ones that never change over time.
"I do not see those who are not mathematical nelli my principles."
With the philosophers and writers in general has never been in agreement, as Galileo believed direct experience.
"No one is in effect nature sanza reason; intend reason and you do not need experience."
"Given the cause, nature operates effect as soon operar so that we can."
"Nature is compelled by reason of his law, which she infused lives."
Not having many books available Leonardo studied simply observing nature, came to understand that there was a behind everything, something closely linked to the world of logic. Four centuries later, Einstein said, "more or less the same thing with the famous statement:" God does not play dice. "(They were both atheists)
"It will be the time when man does not need to kill to eat, and even the killing of one animal will be considered a serious crime."
Here shows that he understood very well on tracks such as the human race progresses.
"The proportion not only in numbers and measures fia found, but etiam nelli sounds, weights, times and locations, 'n is any potential."
Perhaps his most impressive sentence, arrives to assume that the "structure" is dominated by a logic so simple it does not even understand the numbers.
"I had enough to serve."
From this small statement understand what was the driving force that fed him. Identified in the scientific truth the greatest service to the species and life itself. For him, the progress was above all things.
"Yes, like a good day spending gives happy sleep, so life well used is happy to die"
Wrote this sentence the three decades before his death. He died peacefully the morning of 2 May 1519.
